The goal of NRA First Steps Pistol is to provide beginning shooters with an
introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a
specific pistol model safely.
This course is taught one on one or to a very small group. The course is 3
hours in length and is taught using The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook.
Course Lessons
Lesson I - Introduction to Pistol Safety
Lesson II - Introduction to Ammunition and the Fundamentals
of Pistol Shooting
Lesson III - Introduction to Pistol Shooting from the
Benchrest Position
Lesson IV - Introduction to Pistol Cleaning, Storage, and
Training Opportunities
Upon completion of the course students will receive a NRA certificate of
completion and a Basic Practical rocker.
